10/14/22 Jason Malott is the most qualified person for the position of Register of Wills, Washing County, Maryland. I have known Jason since an early age when he and his siblings went to Williamsport area schools with children.

Jason is a fine young man from a family of high integrity, character, and Christian values. He is active both in his church and the Washington County community.  Before becoming Register of Wills, Jason worked in that office for a number of years under the leadership of John Bloyer, then Register of Wills.  Jason knows the Washington County and Maryland rules and laws pertaining to this job.  He is extremely pleasant, courteous, helpful and compassionate to all people when they have the need for his services.

I strongly recommend and endorse Jason A. Malott for Register of Wills Washington County.  You will not regret your vote. ~ Priscilla T. Matheny

I am endorsing Jason Malott for Register of Wills. Jason worked with me when I was Register and I know he has the experience and knowledge needed to continue serving the people of Washington County.  He and his staff do an excellent job assisting and handling the many issues that arise in settling estates in a timely manner.  He serves as the Clerk of the Orphans Court for Washington County in an efficient manner for issues that may come before the Court. A vote for Jason Malott will continue providing you with the services you have become accustomed to from the Register of Wills Office. ~ John R. Bloyer

I have known Jason since I became the pastor of Downsville Christian Church where he is a member and attends.  In my 16 years here, Jason has been an Elder of the congregation and the historian.  He does much else for which he seeks no recognition.  He is my friend and my guide to the past of the church.

Jason has been Register of Wills for many years and has worked in the office longer than that.  He keeps confidences and goes out of his way to see that those in grief have a guide through the intricacies of their situations.

I heartily recommend Jason to you as our continuing Register of Wills and ask you to vote for him in November. ~Reverend Craig Jones

8/23/2022 "I recently became the newest addition to the Register of Wills staff in Washington County on December 1, 2021, after working in banking and wealth management for over 37 years. I feel extremely blessed to have joined such an experienced and caring group of professionals. Through his leadership, Jason Malott guides us to deliver timely and compassionate services to individuals and families in Washington County. He leads by example, which is evident in the strong ties he has with our community, including his commitment to Hospice of Washington County and the Antietam Exchange Club of Hagerstown MD. Jason continues to be the best choice for Register of Wills of Washington County, with his wealth of experience and highest level of dedication to the people of Washington County. I'm looking forward to many more years, working under his leadership." ~ Karen Kiley, Chief Auditor, Register of Wills, Washington County

“Jason has dedicated his entire public service career to the people of Washington County, bringing compassion, professionalism, and integrity to the Office of the Register of Wills. Over the last 12 years in office, he's left a lasting impact on the community — and the thousands of citizens he's helped along the way. I'm proud to support him in his run for re-election.” ~Congressman David Trone

"Mr. Malott helped me at a very very difficult time. No mother should ever lose a child. He handled my situation with such kindness and compassion.  He walked me through the process in at way that was helpful and meaningful.  He helped me navigate what seemed like a mountain.  Jason Malott gets my vote to keep doing the exemplary job he's been doing."

~ Andrea Harris

"On 7/19/2018, my life was turned upside down when my brother died from a tree/ladder accident.  On 8/2/2018 I met with Jason Malott, Register of Wills for Washington County.  His recommendations, eminence, knowledge and most of all his compassion made this process easier.  On April 2, 2019 I was able to close out my brother's estate.  This would have not have been possible without Jason's assistance.  I recommend "NO" matter what political affiliation you are, to check the box to re-appoint Jason A. Malott, Register of Wills for Washington County."

~Mary Ellen Deardorff McAbee

"As the former Clerk of Washington County's Circuit Court, one of my earliest hires was Jason Malott. For nearly ten years Jason served as an exceptional Deputy Clerk.
While I was sorry to see Jason leave the Clerk's Office in 1999 for the Office of the Register of Wills, it made perfect sense.

Jason has always been a sincerely compassionate and caring individual. Those characteristics are perfectly suited to the sensitive nature of the duties of the Register of Wills.

Add to those personality traits Jason's complete knowledge of the duties and administrative procedures of the Register's Office,  learned over the last twelve years while serving as Register, and before that as Chief Deputy Register, and you have in Jason the most qualified person in Washington County, hands down, to hold the position of Register of Wills."

~Dennis Weaver                                                                                                                                      Former Clerk of the Circuit Court                                                                                                  Washington County Maryland

"The election process makes way for the opportunity for  “public servants” to better the communities we live in.  Washington County is to be commended on its selection of Jason A. Malott as their Register of Wills.  Jason is an outstanding asset to his community.  His dedication, knowledge and compassion is beyond measure.  All these qualities are so very important when dealing with a loss of family or friends.  I sincerely hope the voters reaffirm their wise choice of Jason Malott as Register of Wills, so that he may continue to serve the families of Washington County."

~Lois A. Duke,                                                                                                                                           Former Register of Wills,  St. Mary’s County, Maryland

“I have known Jason Malott both professionally and personally for at least twenty-five years and I strongly endorse his bid to secure a further term as the Register of Wills for Washington County.  In his capacity as the current Register he has operated an office which has been extremely sensitive to the needs of the community when members are faced with the loss of a loved one by aiding in the opening of estates and by providing general guidance in the subsequent administration of those proceedings. Although he has assembled an excellent and responsive staff to facilitate matters, Jason maintains an “open door” policy and is always willing to meet and discuss problems that may arise with family members.

In terms of administration, Jason has overseen the modernization of the office including the transfer of documents to a digital format and the facilitation of the use of a Maryland website, allowing the public to access certain facts and data pertaining to estates in Washington County.  Also, he enjoys the respect of the local bar, the Orphans Court of Washington County, as well as the state of Maryland administrative staff and agencies.

As important as his professional skills are, Jason is a devoted husband, father, and family member, supporting them in all their various commitments; moreover, he is a participant in many county and church activities as an enthusiastic volunteer." ~Ken Grove

"When going through life, you meet people who are professional.  You meet people who are helpful. You meet people who know how and what needs to be accomplished.  You meet people who value you and not just the process.  Then you meet~ Jason Malott, who epitomizes all of these values.  Such was my encounter with Mr. Malott when my cousin died without a will, without close family members in the country, and no finances to cover any expenses.  His wife and daughter were serving as missionairies in a remote area of Bolivia.  This made contact with them virtually impossible.  Jason Malott and his excellently trained staff made a very difficult task for me seem almost routine.  Jason Malott personifies the essence of "Public Servent."  He and his staff work hard for the citizens of Washington County.  I, David E Ridenour, endorse Mr. Malott to be re-elected to the position he so capably now fills." .                 ~David E. Ridenour

"At a time when families are grieving they need all the help and kind words a person can offer.  As Register of Wills, Jason Malott has served in the Register of Wills office with this help and kindness.  AS a retired Legal Secretary I experienced the above, so we need to return Jason A. Malott to this office where he has served faithfully and with great expertise" ~ Charlotte S. Eichelberger

"I have known Jason for many years and have had a relationship with his loving family.  As Register of Wills he has provided guidance in settling a personal estate for me.  I was employed with the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. for thirty-eight years and he was always quite helpful, kind and very knowledgeable when needing information for the families we served.  He has years of experience, has integrity and is trustworthy, and he needs to remain on as Register of Wills for what he brings to this postion." ~ Pat Pryor
